Our Team

The American Golf Academy is led by an elite international staff, blending world-class coaching, sports science, and academic support. At the forefront is Mike Magher, Head Coach and Founder, who has successfully placed over 60 junior golfers into U.S. universities with scholarships and has coached athletes across all levels, including the World Tours.

At the American Golf Academy, we combine elite golf training with world-class academics. Based at Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco, our program prepares juniors for university scholarships through daily coaching, international competition, and regular updates to parents on their child’s golf progress, academic responsibilities, and life at the Academy.

Unlock Your Potential in Junior Golf

Location

Mazagan Beach Resort in El Jadida, Morocco — just one hour from Casablanca International Airport — offers a world-class coastal setting for sport and study. [I consider Mazagan the best maintained golf course (Gary Player design) in Morocco].

Housing

Juniors live in private villas within a secure golf community, with 24/7 adult supervision and full-time staff. Rooms are shared by two, each with a private bathroom. Meals are planned by a professional dietician, and medical care is available when needed.

Education

Students attend live classes via Kings InterHigh (UK curriculum), with on-site academic supervision. English-only. All coursework is done from dedicated learning spaces in each villa. The 2026/2027 school year runs from 2 Sept. 2026 to 25 June 2027.

Physical training

Train at the on-site Health Club with tailored programs created by Álvaro Zerolo and Julien Duroux. 3 weekly sessions (2 hours each) are fully supervised and built into each student’s schedule.

Golf

- Unlimited access to Mazagan Golf Course

- Monthly WAGR tournament opportunities
- March training trip to IJGA in Florida + PGA Tour exposure

International Bac Program

School week

- No long breaks during the school day (generally 1h)
- Homework and class preparation required and supervised
- Supervised golf training starts 30 mins after last class
- Supervised golf training ends at 18:30
- Dinner is served at 19:00
- Study period: 20:00 – 22:00
- Lights out at 22:00
- Saturday: Golf training from 8:00 to 16:00
- Sunday: Individual golf training required

A level program

School week

- Extended free time must be used for homework or golf training
- Supervised golf training starts 30 mins after last class
- Supervised golf training ends at 18:30
- Dinner is served at 19:00
- Study period: 20:00 – 22:00
